Listening and Observing

A wonderful opportunity to attend Mr. Gregory Heisler's seminar "The Evocative Portrait" while in NYC for a Photographers Expo this week.  An incredible three hours listening  to Mr. Heisler as he shared insightful, personal stories of the individuals he has photographed over the years ~ told in his thoughtful, witty style.  Quiet portraits - thoughtful portraits - outstanding work -

New York ~ New York.  The sights - the sounds - the streets ~ always such a great experience to walk about and observe.  A stroll through Times Square during the evening - with all the hustle and bustle among thousands of other tourists.  I went for trying to pull out a quiet moment of my own amidst all the neon chaos that is Times Square.

A Quick Pit Stop on my Way to Work this Mornin'

I tend to do a good amount of "desk" work in the morning and don't get out as much I would like to photograph the early morning light.

On my way to a golf tournament today I made myself take a quick pit stop...
and actually the scene below was what had originally caught my eye.  The fog bank lifting off the water and the position of the two fishermen enjoying their morning on the bay was definitely worthy of a photograph or two.

...but in the end it was the beauty and vibrance of that morning light bouncing off the fall color and the calmness of the bay that won over my attention.

So glad I didn't just drive by..........

A Grand Visit

My friend Cathy mentions she found this old castle/ruins and would I like to come down to take some pictures with her?  We went back in time to the days of grandeur and had us a "good ol' time"

This place is a treasure ~ WOW

A Day for the "Wellies"....part II

Deb asks "What do you want me to bring with me?"
I ask "Do you have any waterproof boots?"  She says "yes, they are green is that okay?"
 I say.... "perfect"

Little did she know that when I took a walk around the brook before she arrived that I came up with "Plan B"

So off came the "wellies" and she hopped onto my makeshift swing and we went back in time

                           ~  1964 ~
to be exact.... when she was 5 and I was 4.

Oh my.... such fun to just let your mind go and create what you feel.  The results.... are priceless

A Good Day to put on the "Wellies"

With the warm days being numbered for us northerners it was the perfect day to go for a swing at the brook.  Lots of color and warmth spreading through my yard...

But for this one the warmth comes 100% from "Miss Debbie"
so much that "Miss Gretchen" came over to share in the love!
