A Celebration

Got my hubby to go away for a few days to the coast of Maine with a few friends to celebrate his 60th birthday.

It first started with a conversation "you should go to that B & B in Ogunquit....."  Honestly, I was thinking to myself "well that's more of a gift to myself than to Jim".  But when I presented it to him he was onboard with the idea.  He wasn't looking for a big "hoopla" to mark his 60th year - but rather a quiet, laid back gathering.

We boogie boarded at the beach, ate, played cards, ate, walked along the shore, ate....
you get the picture!

On our second night we sailed out of Perkins Cove on the Silverlining.  A 42' sloop that has been lovingly restored by her Captain Jack Gordon.

There was nary a wind out on the water that evening and the sunset was hindered by the incoming clouds.  But still it was a delightfully calm and cool ride.  Our captain saw a whale in the distance and pointed it out to us..... we kept watch but he must have surfaced further down the coast.

Once again I'm reminded that the simple things in our lives give us great pleasure and fill our sails.

enjoy,

k
