Wet and Wild On the Winni River

I had the pleasure of photographing Franklin's whitewater festival this past weekend "Winni River Days" organized through Mill City Park non-profit organization at Franklin Falls and Trestle View Park.

Marty Parichand from Outdoor New England was our trusty guide for our afternoon raft trip.  Marty is an experienced paddler and entrepreneur promoting the sport for whitewater enthusiasts in Franklin.
We started out getting fitted with the proper gear to hit the water.  Once everything was secure we loaded into the van and headed up river.
Our vessel of the day was unloaded
and brought down to the water.
A great group of boat mates looking forward to the adventure together, taking in the sights along the river as we became acquainted and practiced paddling skills.
This crew quickly got into a calm, steady rhythm of paddling as the river began to get swift.
It wasn't long until we were into the rapids and working off the direction of our guide Marty.  As you can see I wasn't the only one getting wet!
Through the trestle was exhilerating for all on board!
Not a dry soul on deck at the end of this trek!
Many thanks to Marty, Abhas, Joe, Alicia, Jenisha, Jon and Carly for their mad paddling skills and a wet and wild ride!
