Tradition Dating Back Over 100 Years

I had the pleasure of meeting Norman Lyford today over at the annual
Ice Harvest for Rockywold Deephaven Camps on Squam Lake
Mr. Lyford has been working the ice harvest for 70 years
and talked about the years past with a twinkle in his eye.

About 3600 blocks of ice cut, pushed and pulled over the next few days to be stored in the camp ice houses until summer visitors return to their cabins.

Years of history being preserved and enjoyed not only by those that will visit this summer,

but from what I experienced
by those that gather on the lake each year for this time honored tradition.

enjoy,

k
