Head Shot Session with Kimberly

A recent head shot session with my hairdresser Kimberly Monfet.  We've had some prior shoots together over the years and each time we get together it's a fun experience for both of us!  Of course, once again, this session was right down that alley.

Kim's sense of fun and love of life come out in her photos.  She'll comment she's slightly nervous but it never shows.  She listens and follows subtle direction from me and by half way through our time together she is in her groove!

We mix up a little fun, casually styled photos.
Some black and while and others with that
pop of color!  Or should I say colors....
Some images bringing out a more serious, genuine glimpse into this lovely lady.

At the end of the day, though, Kim's love of life and sense of style shine through swimmingly.

Lots of laughs and a pleasure to work with...
many thanks to you my friend for entrusting me
as your photographer.

enjoy,

Vintage Race Cars ...with Stories to Tell

I recently had the pleasure of spending an afternoon with Nick Grewal.  As we walked through his two story barn I listened as he told the individual stories behind each car.  Giving me a glimpse into their history down the road as well as their previous owners and drivers.

These cars don't sit idle in Grewal's barn.  They remain "road ready"
While I don't consider myself a "car person" I was swept up in their beauty and stamina held throughout the years.
These cars, plus many more, will be on display for the July fundraiser benefiting the NH Boys and Girls Club Organization
The Vintage Racing Stable with be on Sunday, July 22nd at 200 March Road in Sanbornton.

If you are a race car enthusiast this would be an event you won't want to miss!

Cheerio!

The Goddess of Spring

I made time this afternoon to go out and look for some photographs that would speak to the "pop" of spring.  Everything around us is turning green, growing and leading us towards the start of summer.  This is one of my favorite rituals of the changing seasons - and to me the most striking.

A spectacular day!  The air was warm, the breeze soft.
Tones of green in every shade and hue.  The earth is sprouting.

When I made this photo I saw within the frame the female figure in the background.  I loved the leaves and the play of light on them - but I found that I was noticing more the figure behind.

So after a quick search on Google I came up with this....

Persephone the Greek Goddess of Spring.  Daughter of Zeus and Demeter.  Abducted by Hades, became his wife and was the queen of the underworld.  It was decided that Persephone spend four months in the underworld and eight months on earth.

Her return marks the start of the spring.

I don't know
about you
but it sounds
Greek to me!

A Young Man with a Wish

Young Paul had his wish day made special by the good folks from Make A Wish Foundation as well as a community of friends and family ~ brothers and sisters.

It started with Engine 1 arriving at his home for a special escort to the Laconia Fire Station.  Paul along with his brother and sister eagerly hopped into their seats and off they went sirens blaring.

Every fireman needs the appropriate gear to do their job.
Paul was set up and ready
for when and if he received
a "tone" during his shift.
Friends were by his side to lend a helping hand of support as they inspected Engine 1.

When the "tone" sounded Paul was put to work with the help from his fellow fireman Chad.

He quickly went to task extinguishing the blaze with a steady hand and cool composure.

Paul has the love and support of his family and friends....
....and now has the support of his new family of brothers and sisters at Laconia Fire.

Job well done!

New Digs Are Working Out Well

Jim checked when he got home there were two.
I checked when I got home there were four.

The new digs seem to be working out quite well.
Pretty soon we'll be watching Mama collect worms from our deck.
