Coffee at the Shanty

A quick steal away visit to the coast of Scarborough Maine.  We stayed at a pleasant inn by the sea.   I've always found a peacefulness by the ocean while at the same time feeling strength.

Time for a mornin' cup of coffee at the shanty...

I could do a full series of photographs in these dunes.    

People coming to and fro ~ the warm breeze off the ocean ~ the sun warming my back.

Kaleidoscope

During a visit to Maine I was drawn to this kaleidoscope sitting on a table in our room.

 We had a view the sea from our window and as I sat there and
took a few spins of the wheel I
was delighted with what popped
up through the viewer.

Small mirrors reflecting back images
           rotating the wheel
           multiple loose fragments
           an endlessly
           changing view

Kind of how I view our travels
they offer us an endlessly changing
view to revive our sense of
purpose and wonder.

For the Love of Fish Tacos

Maine has been pulling us in this summer.  From a fun, nostalgic trip over to York, to the coast of Scarborough to a ferry out to Peaks Island.  Some spots spent many a year ~ some a first time visit.
