Boston Holocaust Memorial

A day trip to Boston almost always includes a walk through the Holocaust Exhibit.  

A slow walk  ~ taking notice of other visitors

Being sensitive to those around us

Chatting at times ~ other times looking off in a different direction ~ still connecting in a most personal way. 

 For some it may be  a slow pace ~ for others a quick walk through.

Standing ~  Observing ~ Walking Hand in Hand

 Reflections always catch my eye  

Here the numbers become the building, trees and the world around us.

Here the words take command through their visibility.

A most moving visit each and every time.

Create a Little Drama With Light

The less light you allow - the more dramatic the image.  

Creating shadows that are pleasing can be a challenge.

This setup was one soft box on camera right feathered to create more of a silhouette.

A gold reflector on camera right to throw a little light and pull me off the black background.

And lastly, a white fill board to bounce a bit more light under my chin and fill in my face while keeping the play of shadow.

Fun to try out and manipulate the light this way.

Watching the Stars

Through my work I get many opportunities to photograph dress rehearsals for upcoming theater events.  

On this evening I enjoyed the Neil Simon play "Proposals" played out in the New Space Theater at St Paul's School.

As I left the theater my gaze was drawn to the sky.  A brilliant display of stars overhead caught and held my gaze.  For mid November is was a unseasonably warm evening and out of the corner of my eye I saw two people laying down on the sidewalk looking up and enjoying the starry display.  I believe in the stars ~ I'm a dreamer.  This night from beginning to end made my heart smile.
