Life on the Water

Kayaking on small lakes in our area we often see the loon out and about.  It's always a treat to see them and "hear" their sweet cries. Today this guy was having quite a time frolicking and preening on the water.   He made us laugh and think how similar we are in that we just love splashing around in the water!

As we made our way around the lake we came upon mama loon sitting on her nest.  In a few weeks we'll be watching for their littles as they begin to learn and explore life on the water.
