Bounce and Falloff

Playing around with some continuous lighting in a small confined space.  Large parabolic umbrella with two lights shooting through it.  I'm tucked in to about a three foot space with a white reflector on my left ~ light set up is on my right.  So there was a whole lot of light bouncing around during this session…..with some unintentional falloff

My rigging was done in quick fashion ~ therefore the "falloff" was also in quick fashion!
Had to laugh though.  As soon as the next shot was firing I was trying to get my act back together.

A enjoyed a few laughs along with a little knowledge gained ~ can't take yourself too seriously ~
I chalk it up to a good day!

A Day In The Field

As an editorial photographer I find myself always in observation mode - looking for something to happen that tells a story.

While at the same time consciously trying to make a photograph that is uniquely my own.

When I first saw Olivia I was drawn to the light catching her in a beautiful way.  But as she walked along with apples in hand I was given a gift.

….and in the words of Jay Maisel you hear the voice in your head saying "don't screw this up"  (modified the language on this quote) If you've ever talked with Jay you'll know what I'm sayin'

We've all been given gifts ~ don't screw them up!

Shot in the Arm

Fabulous to see downtown Laconia abuzz this afternoon during the New Hampshire Coffee Festival.
It was wonderful to see the streets jam packed with visitors and vendors offering a wide array
of local products.

I enjoyed energizing conversation with old and new friends ~ truly a great shot in the arm.
