Documenting the progress happening at the Colonial Theater in downtown Laconia. The more time I spend within her walls the more I'm able to feel first hand this gem being restored to life.
A labyrinth of staging takes workers from the floor level up through the ceiling. Walking around within this space is "a-mazing" ~ pardon the pun but it is definitely a sight to witness. The trap door on the ceiling gave me a glimpse into work being done above where the average visitors' eyes will never see.
This is the middle layer of the staging process. With a make-shift floor allow restoration work on the ceiling. Floors dismantled from the main level to the basement allows a unique view through to the stage.
Custom made stencils and paints carefully matched to the existing ceiling and hand worked to bring back the original tapestry of artwork.

Hand stenciling the walls and the ceilings - filling in the blanks made through the passage of time.
Each person has their space and goes about their work. Every direction that I looked there was work being done.
These spaces are up on the ceiling and the proscenium arch at the top of the stage. As they work through these areas and finish their tasks the staging will get dropped down little by little.
I will be documenting this project as it moves along.
History in the making on history that was made over 100 years ago.
