Respect

Over the past several years I have had the pleasure of doing feature work for New England Boating Magazine.  Stories including features on the many lakes that surround where we call home.
I have always felt fortunate to live in a place with such honest beauty.  We are a tourist region yet we maintain that small town feel throughout the area.  People care, people take pride in where they live and people are kind-hearted.

Last summer my feature work allowed me to spend an afternoon with Merrill Fay.  Truly an icon of Lake Winnipesaukee as you will see as you read through the pages of this story.  What has always caught my eye with Merrill Fay over the years is the twinkle in his eye.  Merrill has a genuine love of this place we call home but more importantly a love for all the folks who come here as well.  Whether they come for a short visit or spend a lifetime.  His contributions to the Lakes Region are far reaching and not only through the summer months.  His love of hockey brought the Merrill Fay Ice Arena to life.  I've had the pleasure of photographing that "twinkle" at many local events many years through.  A heartfelt thank you goes out to Merrill Fay for the joy you have brought to so many folks near and far through the years and through the seasons.

Upcoming features with New England Boating Magazine will include another Lake Winnipesaukee Icon as well as some old treasures that continue to chart the waters of the Lakes Region.

enjoy,

k
